    Bio
Cassandra joined the lab in the summer of 2016 as a member of the Image Analysis Team. A B.A. in Chemistry from St. Olaf College and AmeriCorps experience as an educator quickly transitioned her to the Image Analysis Team Lead. In this role, Cassandra is responsible for the recruitment, training, and day-to-day management of ~15 Arizona State University undergraduates working with the MNO lab. Teaching and training students on MRI tumor segmentation along career and life mentoring fulfills Cassandra’s passion for science and education.

As the Image Analysis Team Lead, Cassandra has a pulse on most of the research within the lab, and she continues to learn and expand her knowledge. She enjoys asking questions of the senior researchers, post docs, and graduate students to understand their projects and how they will be using the segmentation values. While physics did was not her favorite science class, she has learned its useful application in the world of MR imaging (thanks to Dr. Pamela Jackson, Dr. Leland Hu, and Google!)If you find yourself with questions regarding how the MNO lab does image segmentation, Cassandra is the person to ask!

Outside of the lab Cassandra enjoys getting out on the trails, spending time in the gym, coaching Crossfit, and completing puzzles with Grandma June.
